Actor Stephen Amell, best known for his role in the TV series “Arrow,” made a return trip to Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast “Inside of You” to finish a conversation that was interrupted when Amell had a panic attack mid-podcast and left.

During the first half of Amell’s chat with Rosenbaum, they talked about Amell’s mental health and how he was struggling with the end of “Arrow.” Amell explained he was having trouble keeping up, was “mentally exhausted” and felt like he just needed a break.

“My family was going out to Palm Springs and I just looked at my wife and I’m like, ‘I can’t even get myself off the ground right now,’” Amell said in the episode. “Laid on the couch for two days, didn’t eat.”

Rosenbaum said he could tell Amell seemed to be struggling and looked tired. Amell also revealed he cried a couple times the day of the interview and his wife sent him to the doctor prior to taping the podcast. That’s around the time when, according to Rosenbaum, “things start to unwind” and Amell experienced a panic attack.

“I’m not feeling well at all,” Amell told Rosenbaum before exiting mid-podcast interview. “I think I just got to go. I just kind of want to walk, do you mind? I just need fresh air.”

Instead of running and hiding from his panic attack, Stephen Amell came back on the show to face it head-on ????Not many who would have been this brave to have had something like this happen and then return to dissect it.Share this with a friend who you think needs this right now ❤️ apple.co/insideofyou…#InsideOfYou #Podcast #MichaelRosenbaum #Rosenbaum #Smallville #SmallvilleForever #Superman #actor #actress #acting #film #funny #podcast #mustsee #newpodcast #haha #mentalhealth #anxiety #real #panicattack #stephenamell #amell #arrow #cw #arrowcw #arrowverse #arrowseason6

In the full podcast episode released on Tuesday, Rosenbaum and Amell shared the whole story, a conversation they finished two weeks after Amell had to stop and walk away — literally. The “Arrow” actor said he walked home in the cold to be alone and regroup. He said the conversation about mental health triggered him.

“You have that realization where you go, ‘Oh my God, this is in my head,’” Amell said. “I’d rather them tell me, ‘No no no, you need to have your spleen removed’ … I took real stock in the fact that I was taking a break and I really needed to. You want to fix it immediately but that’s not the way it works.”

Rosenbaum applauded Amell for finishing their interview and his vulnerability to talk about his mental health. To promote the podcast, Amell also shared since he’s been prioritizing self-care, he’s also in a better spot.

“I did Rosey’s podcast after Arrow ended,” Amell shared on Twitter. “We had to cut it short because I had a full on panic attack. It wasn’t pretty. I came back a few weeks ago to chat about it. I was in a really bad spot and I’m happy to report that I’m doing much better.”
