Behind a traveling popcorn stand in Reno, Nev., you’ll find 15-year-old Jack Rovetti dishing out salty snacks and smiles.
Jack, who has Down syndrome, mans his parents’ Doc Popcorn franchise — Dave and Diana Rovetti saw the business opportunity as the perfect way to teach their son about independence, money and responsibility.
“Our hope is that this will be a long term business for him so that he can be self-sustaining and be out in the community having fun and making money for the things that he needs,” Diana Rovetti tells KOLO 8 in the video below.
Right now, Jack is just enjoying his summer job.
“It’s good,” he tells the station. “It’s sweet. It’s perfect.”
