This Seriously Awesome Sister Wants You to Ask Her What She’s Dressed Up As for Halloween

Halloween boasts buckets of candy, wild costumes, trick-or-treating and enough ghostly decorations to spook the bravest of us. But for one young woman, this year’s festivities became an awesome way to help her sister.

In the picture below, Holly Bruce is dressed up as an Isodicentric 15 chromosome duplication, the chromosome disorder her sister, Anna, was born with. Dup15q syndrome often comes with a variety of developmental disabilities and challenges including autism, seizures, hypotonia as well as anxiety and sensory disorders.

Holly plans to hand out pieces of paper with a link to dup15q resources so anyone who asks about her costume can learn about her sister’s condition.

We seriously can’t get over how good this costume idea is.
