NFL Player Ensures 4-Year-Old With Heart Condition Will Have a Very Merry Christmas
At a time when professional athletes are often getting media coverage for the wrong reasons, one NFL player has demonstrated his heart of gold.
The Oakland Raiders recently made 4-year-old Ava Urrea an honorary captain for the day, according to the YouTube video below. Ava lives with a serious heart condition that’s required her to have over 14 procedures. So, as part of the Touchdown Dreams program, the Raiders showered her in gifts and invited her to spend the day with them.
Offensive tackle Menelik Watson was so moved by little Ava’s struggle that he decided to give her family his entire weekly paycheck. The sum most likely amounts to around $18,000, according to Bleacher Report.
