Toddler Has the Best Reaction to Hearing His Mother’s Voice for the First Time


Ryan Aprea, of Huntington Beach, California, was born premature at only 25 weeks, the Today Show reported. He spent his first seven months of life in a neonatal intensive care unit, and upon leaving the hospital, his family was told he had both vision and hearing impairment.

But, thanks to cochlear implant surgery, little Ryan, now 2, has finally heard his mother’s voice for the first time.

In a video that Ryan’s mother, Jennifer Aprea, posted online last week, the toddler has an incredibly sweet reaction to having his implants turned on while his mom is speaking to him. He giggles uncontrollably.
