Let’s face it — sometimes when you have a chronic illness, disability or mental health condition, it’s not always easy to get to work. Sometimes, it’s like this work meme, which captures what it’s like when you’re barely functioning but still have a job to do:

If you can relate or you’re not able to go to an office at all because it’s not accessible or won’t accommodate your needs, the solution might be a reliable work-from-home job. No more commuting and you’ll have extra flexibility to take breaks as you need in the comfort of your own space. Plus, you can choose full- or part-time positions or even ones that are contract or freelance so you can work at times when you feel up to it but don’t have to stick to the daily grind when it’s just not possible.

1. Hilton

While traveling, there’s a chance you may have stayed at a Hilton hotel at some point. A mammoth hospitality chain, Hilton needs workers to take care of its guests through sales and customer service. Its customer service positions requires, according to Hilton’s website, the ability to handle a variety of requests such as sales, advice and troubleshooting issues. You’ll also need to be open to flexible hours based on customer demand. All jobs training is provided virtually.

2. Aria Communications

Digital marketing has certainly taken over, but there’s still a place for good old-fashioned direct mail campaigns. That’s Aria Communications’ specialty. In addition to its handwritten direct mail services, Aria also provides call center and telemarketing expertise. While you’ll do your handwriting assignments at home, know that during the application process you will have to go to Aria’s office for an in-person handwriting sample. Currently, the company is only hiring remote workers in the Minnesota area.

Contrary to what the name implies, in this case, FoxCub isn’t a cute little wild animal but a mobile game developer based in Canada. It creates titles such as “The Walking Dead Slots,” “Slots Vacation” and “Buffalo Bonus Casino.” Caught on to the gambling theme yet? Currently, the company needs quality assurance testers to make sure its products will hit the jackpot with users. While you would work full-time, it is a contract position so likely no additional benefits.

4. Trafilea

A “disruptive” millennial-founded e-commerce company, Trafilea designs, manufactures and sells its own brands direct to consumers. It’s not super specific about what those products are, but one example is Shapermint, a body-shaping garment accompanied by a campaign about feeling comfortable in your own skin. If hired for a role, your hours might be a little unconventional — split between time zones around the world — but Trafilea offers paid vacation, though it’s unclear if you would be an employee or a freelancer.

Are you a news junkie? Then you might want to check out Inside, which curates essential daily news into a series of streamlined newsletters delivered right to your inbox. You could be doing anything from writing and curating newsletters to serving as a managing editor or working in sales and marketing. There’s not much info about benefits, but a part-time position pays $20,000 per year, according to the website.

SpeakWrite is a transcription company dedicated to “legal, government, law enforcement and other private sector clients.” Your role with the company as a freelance “typist” means setting your own hours, but the work will be variable. SpeakWrite’s website claims the average monthly earning is $300, though it could be more or less. SpeakWrite also requires you have a typing speed of at least 60 words per minute and it needs English and Spanish transcriptionists.

7. U-Haul

Ah yes, the do-it-yourself moving truck company favored by many of the go-getters among us. U-Haul needs a fleet of at-home employees to manage its customer service operations, including sales, support and roadside assistance. The company does require working holidays and being open to a flexible schedule based on caller demand. However, even as a part-time worker, according to its website, U-Haul will provide some medical, dental, prescription drug and vision health benefits.
