7 Work-From-Home Jobs Hiring This July

By now you’ve probably heard the news: The World Health Organization (WHO) declared “burn-out” an official syndrome.

Technically burnout is an “occupational phenomenon” as opposed to a “medical condition,” but if you live with a health condition, you’re probably well aware burn-out can be a very real side effect of your health or lack of accommodations at work and elsewhere.

Mighty contributor Winslow E. Dixon explained how they deal with burn-out while living with a chronic illness in the article, “10 Ways to Break Through the Burnout of Chronic Illness.” In addition to prioritizing self-care, learning to say no and changing your surroundings, Dixon recommended eliminating stressors where you can. Dixon wrote:

Avoid things that trigger increased pain, sadness or stress. Are there certain things that increase stress in your life? Are there people you need to avoid? Are there situations that hurt you? Try to get away from as much negativity as possible…and when it’s not possible, care for yourself as best as you are able.

For many living with health conditions or disabilities, going to an office can be one of the biggest work stressors, whether it’s a lack of accessible parking, an open-office layout that causes sensory overload or being required to sit in a chair all day that leads to debilitating joint pain. Virtual call centers are all the rage, and Pink Callers has jumped on the bandwagon, differentiating themselves by working with service companies such as landscapers, plumbers and cleaners. To assist its clients, the company uses virtual customer service representatives to answer phones and schedule and dispatch services. Pink Callers doesn’t mention any benefits on its site, but the hourly pay rate is listed as $10.50 per hour.

According to its website, Kaplan offers health insurance benefits, paid time off and short- and long-term disability insurance.

Most listed opportunities are contact positions, which means no benefits. Also, check the payment details carefully. Some jobs may pay $10 an hour, for example, but one cold-calling position says you’ll only make $5 an hour and a $30 bonus for every appointment you book.
