Colleen Coffey, Ed.D. grew up in Nashville, Tennessee in a family that recognized mental health disorders as part of its genealogy. At the age of 13, she was sent home from school and into a treatment facility for disordered eating. Later diagnosed with other disorders including obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression, she spent the next few years in search of the right treatment. Since receiving the right kinds of help while in graduate school, Colleen has discovered the life she was meant to live. Now the Research & Retention Specialist for Phired Up Productions and a proud wife and mother, she manages her mental health with positive coping skills. A graduate of Belmont University, Eastern Illinois University, and Trevecca Nazarene University, Colleen regularly consults with fraternities, sororities, and Active Minds chapters on topics such as leadership, stigma reduction and recruitment.
