Kelly worked as a chef’s apprentice while attending culinary school; then embarked on a ten year journey that took her through many facets of the food service industry.
After being laid off from her job, she returned to school and earned a degree in clinical nutrition and credentialing as a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR). She was employed in the healthcare field for more than 12 years.
Kelly has been on the receiving end of healthcare as well. A craniotomy in 1999 and then just a few years later, a diagnosis of Crohn’s disease set Kelly on her own quest for wellness. When she is not writing (or at a Drs. appointment) she likes to spend time with her family.
