Leah is a 20-year-old social work student at Virginia Commonwealth University. She became involved with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) after being diagnosed with depression and anxiety in high school. She continues to work with NAMI at the local, state and national level. This includes serving as President of NAMI On Campus at VCU, holding membership on both the NAMI Virginia Youth MOVE Board and the NAMI National Young Adult Advisory Group, and being certified in two NAMI signature programs as a presenter. Leah uses her personal experience to advocate for mental health care parity and reduction of stigma in society.
