Epidermolysis Bullosa

Community, Stories & Info

Epidermolysis bullosa is a group of rare genetic skin disorders that cause the skin to blister in response to injury, heat, or friction. There are four main types of disorders, with additional sub-types, that vary in severity and cause. While blisters usually form on the skin, severe cases involves blisters within the oral cavity, intestines, eye as well as the respiratory and genitourinary tracts. There is currently no cure, but supportive care includes wound care and pain management.
