Joint Hypermobility Syndrome

Community, Stories & Info

Joint hypermobility syndrome is a benign condition in which the individual’s joints move beyond the normal expected range. It is estimated that 10-15% of children and young adults have hypermobile joints and those with them are often referred to as being “double jointed”. The condition can cause joint pain, mild swelling and discomfort after exercise, yet exercise is recommended to strengthen muscles around the loose joints.
