Myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune disorder characterized by weakness and rapid fatigue of any muscles under voluntary control. It is caused by a breakdown in signals between the nerves and muscles. Symptoms include weakness of arm and/or leg muscles, double vision, drooping eyelids, and difficulties with swallowing, speaking, chewing and breathing. While there is no cure, treatment can help relieve symptoms.
