Mighty Member since December 2015
As a teen, Dominique Viel was a competitive tennis player who was unfortunately injured in training one cold December morning, which resulted in a neurovascular condition called reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) that spread through the entire left side of her body, and resulted in more connective tissue and cardiac issues. Now in her 20s and her health stabilized to her "new normal," she has taken her past experience as a teen with chronic illnesses and her own love of philanthropy to start her own nonprofit, InvisiYouth Charity. This 501c3 nonprofit organization helps teens and young adults around the world with various chronic illnesses and disabilities gain the right lifestyle tools, virtual programs, empowerment leadership opportunities and fun events to learn how to thrive in the non-medical sides of life and keep living with any health struggles. Some say close a door to your past to move forward, Dominique says embrace it and become a better you!
