Mighty Member since November 2018
I have Autism Spectrum Disorder and major depression. I became a veterinarian ( because of my difficulties and stress involved with human interaction) and use high speed Morse code (above 30 WPM) to "stim" and as my preferred method of communication. It is a lots of fun, challenging, safe, wholesome, self esteem elevating way to find and keep friends in my non threatening home environment. The YouTube website has the five videos that I made about Morse Code. Every day, I effortlessly sent 35 wpm electronically generated MorseCode to myself and other people because it is so much fun and relaxes me so much! The years old Morse outreach-exhibit that I present at local events and classrooms give a thorough history of Morse, a Morse practice table with three unique Morse instruments, the internet URL's for online mentoring information for Morse learning and use (including the website URL's of commercial amateur radio stores) and three audio MP4 messages sent to me in Morse Code. They were composed specifically for young students and are from: a. The military instructor of Morse Code to military "spies in training", b. a former astronaut and c. a federal judge in San Francisco who supervises lawsuits involving corporations in Silicon Valley. You can imagine how interested the youngsters are when I play these personalized messages in Morse and translate the Morse! My latest dream is to place my forty five minute Morse presentation onto a USB flash drive in a non copyrighted way so that the parents of the young patients in the nation's children's hospitals can take the flash drive home. If you view the video in the article I have submitted in this website you can see that I need help making this video! I have a "Radio Library" program. I enjoy loaning (no cost) (mailing) Morse Code practice units to "kids with issues" parents. The parents simply return (mail) the units to me if they are no longer being used--so I can loan them to another interested youngster. This is my greatest joy in life, I think. My driving passion over these twenty five years of outreach is to provide the EXPOSURE of Morse Code to people. This is an activity that is totally good with no negative aspects that I can see. It is vital that people have the information needed to give an informed "yes" or " no" to further investigation of this activity. I often think about possibly not being here to write this narrative if I had missed my "special day, time and place" at the local county fair fifty four years ago now.
