I have had difficulty in finding stories about people who have the similar form of cerebral palsy like me and everyone who I know as a friend doesn’t have the same condition as me. I’m the only one who has cerebral palsy. I'm now a student at Phoenix Community College. I am the only member of my family who has cerebral palsy, ADHD, autism, depression, and anxiety. I’m from a Jewish family and I respect people of all backgrounds. I’ve been a volunteer at Friendship Circle, which is an organization that helps kids with special needs to create long lasting friendships with non-disabled peers. I am also an Ambassador in Best Buddies which helps people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. My grandmother from my dad’s side of the family is the one who got me into both of these organizations. I’m a student attending Scottsdale Community College and I’m majoring in graphic design. After I earn my associates degree, I will then transfer to Arizona State University Polytechnic. I struggle a lot because of having ADHD and both anxiety and depression on top of having cerebral palsy. I am 23 years old and I feel like I am always at war with my own brain. Right now, however, I’m taking a hiatus from my college studies to focus my attention on this vocational rehab program that I have been attending. For over a year now I have been going to the Center for Transitional Neurorehabilitation to help me with improving my skills for independence and the potential of getting my very first job. Once I have finished this program, I hope to return to my college studies and complete my associates degree in graphic design.
