Laurice Levine has her Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Education from University of California at Davis and her Master’s degree in Child and Family Studies from Syracuse University, New York. After she completed her education she earned her Child Life Certification which licenses her to do specialized clinical and psychosocial work with children in hospitals. Laurice worked at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland as the thalassemia outreach coordinator for 17 years and started her own medical consulting practice in 2016. Laurice is a board member of the Thalassemia Support Foundation in California. Laurice has transfusion dependent thalassemia, receives blood every two weeks, and chelates approximately 15-24 hours a day. Laurice has been married for 14 years and her and her husband have a 3½ year old son, a corgi, and 3 birds. They also love traveling, movies, music, baking/cooking, and are Disney aficionados.
