Mighty Member since April 2018
Korean by birth, raised in the Bay Area California, and transplanted to Europe in 2001, I am the mother of two boys, married to a gifted writer/blogger and former chef who works as a stay at home dad, and get to earn a living by giving money to human rights and social justice activists working to make the world a better, more equal, democratic, and just place. My semi-charmed life hit a pretty major snag in March 2015 after going to multiple doctors with what I thought was a vicious case of constipation to ultimately find out that it was a cancerous tumor in my colon that was the problem. Since then, I have been on a wild ride with cancer, filled with highs and lows with radiation, chemo, surgeries, colostomy mishaps, alternative therapies, finding reserves of courage I never knew I had, and discovering the superpower of really seeing and hearing people that has given more meaning and color to my life. I live with the hope that I will survive and beat the grim statistics for stage 4 colorectal cancer sufferers and am glad to have found the Mighty community to help inspire and push me on. It is comforting to know you are not alone.
