I recently moved across the country, and had a pain management doctor in California. Now, I'm getting more and more established in Nashville, where I currently live – which means finding newer doctors. Yesterday, I tried a new pain specialist...Where I was told I would be randomly tested for drugs, and no family would be allowed back with me in any situation.

Have any of you experienced this before? Is this normal where you live?

I didn't experience these rules in California, so I'm wondering if they're a norm elsewhere?

The idea of "resting and recharging" is not necessarily easy. I have three kids and two of them have disabilities, plus my anxiety has been really high lately. As the weekend approaches, I want to do some self-care, mainly to find some rest and recharge for next week. What works for you?

Telling my friend about my upcoming appointment I told her, "I know we're overdue for an appointment and I know what we have to talk about – and I'm pretty sure I may cry for the first time in her office."

She told me, "I call that pre-therapy anxiety."

I asked, "DO YOU GET THAT TOO!?"

She does.

And I do too.
