Not sure what to feel… I was having trouble breathing and I knew that wasn’t good so I played it off and finished my meeting. I went straight to the ER by train. Hours and hours later I felt better and kinda silly for coming to the ER. Then the ER doctor came in acting very professional so I knew something was very wrong. She didn’t even know what to call what I had, all she knew is that the growth was big. Fast forward to today. I’ve already had to get lots of tests to rule out myasthenia gravis (and other stuff), underwent a sternotomy, painful recovery and other stuff in 2018. I get these follow up ct scans that scare me so I remember to treasure now. I’m thankful I don’t live in a 3rd world country but rare diseases suck!! I’m not certain of some things but I am thankful for natural resilience, antidepressants (for neurological chronic pain from a really, really bad auto accident 22 yrs ago) and some peace. With all the medical and life challenges I face, reading most of the posts on this site is either helpful, entertaining and/or humbling.

Hello Mind Conquerors!

Like i would like to do every friday, i will repropose this initiative, these are the concepts:

- Sharing how you are feeling in this moment

- Activating notifications on this post

- Reading comments as they are being made, and replying to those to which you can relate to, either with practical advices or kind words :)

The idea is to make us talk with each other in a form that look like a community chat, to stimulate communication and give life to interesting conversations!

If you don't want to comment or reply, don't feel like you have to!

You may just read or skip without any problem, as you please 😊

*Following our group leader's idea, could we give an heart to those who decide to comment and open up?
We do support other people in this community, so it's nice to make everyone feel cared of!*

Thanks to everyone who spent time reading this post :)

Why am I here?

23 years ago this month I got into an auto accident that hurt me a great deal physically and would later progress into segmental Dystonia.

I feel very very ambivalent this month each year because I’m not sure why I survived. So I take it easy on myself and become pretty quiet.

I don’t know and I don’t believe anyone does. So I do the best I can after surviving a coma, broken bones, a ruptured spleen, etc. Sometimes it’s best to just be quiet and other times it’s best to get busy.

We’ll see how it goes today…
