How do you help your family accept you are disabled? #EhlersDanlosSyndrome #Depression #Anxiety #IrritableBowelSyndromeIBS #PTSD

Hi everyone. So just a little background. I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, IBS, chronic migraines, major depressive disorder, severe anxiety, and PTSD. Yesterday I had a good day, which lately have been very rare. I was able to spend time with family and eat more normally (I have been in a bad IBS flare for the last few months). I was able to help at my grandmas and over all enjoy myself. This morning my grandma called me to say how nice it was that I was acting like my old self and being normal again. It kind of hurt and made me realize that my family doesn’t understand that my being sick is my normal. I have hidden my symptoms most of my life and within the last couple of years I have started to accept myself that I have disabilities. My family can’t or won’t accept that I have these disabilities and keep telling me I will get better in the future. How can I help them accept my disabilities? I don’t want to hide my pain from them and pretend I am fine all the time.
