Life Updates

I A lot of things have happened since I last posted here.
CW// pet loss

I got COVID -- as far as I know, it was mild and didn't last long.
I got a job -- it's been difficult and I've been working so hard I'm feeling sick and sluggish for the rest of the week. They're moving me to a different, easier department, though.
I'm going back and forth from the doctor cause I'm having new symptoms and I don't know what's going on. I'll make a separate post about it later.
Finally, my dog passed away July 20th. He was fairly old, but it still didn't feel like it was his time...
I'm working hard to bring my cat, Mymy, home to live with me again.

But there y'all go. That's the update.

Oh lol

Cardiologist says I have tachycardia, so that's fun.
Also did a breath test and it turns out I have SIBO so I'm currently getting treated for that (icky tho).

They did an abdominal ultrasound that showed mild enlargement of my liver (benign so my doc isn't worried about it) and a small non-obstructive kidney stone.

It's been a while since I've been on antibiotics so I gotta ask - while I'm on antibiotics (doxycycline and flagyl), can I eat normally throughout the day (when my appetite exists)?

Irritation

I went to see a cardiologist today and she saw in my notes that I have EDS, but didn't have genetic testing to confirm. At the time of diagnosis, there wasn't a gene linked to hEDS. She told me after rolling her eyes, "You don't LOOK like you have EDS."

The Update No One Asked For

My dentist appointment was the day after my first appointment with my new Primary, so this is gonna be a two for one update.

The appointment with my new Primary went interestingly well! Although she thinks EDS is an autoimmune disease, she otherwise has a basic understanding of what's affected, what to look out for, and who to get in contact with. She's also hilarious, so that's an added bonus (I don't think I'd ever survive a doctor who doesn't fake laugh at my jokes in a pained way). She has me getting blood work done (today, actually), and I have a cardiologist appointment scheduled for some time in March! I'm a bit nervous, but I'm glad we're working on getting some answers.

As for the dentist, I was nervous and worried for genuinely nothing. Other than a cap that needs fixing and some mild cavities that will be filled, my teeth are pretty dang healthy!

It's time.

I've put it off for too long and really had a "Well, well, well. If it isn't the consequences of my actions" last night.

For the first time since the summer before 10th grade, I had a toothache. And for the first time ever, I have to schedule my own dentist appointment.
I hated going to the dentist as a kid -- and that 10th grade year, my fear of going was so bad that I took care of that tooth myself (though it would've been better going, looking back at it).

But here I am, being a responsible adult and making the appointment.

Ugh.

Welp.. that's one way to end a year, I guess.

TW// Pregnancy loss...................... As I mentioned earlier, I found out why I had been feeling so under the weather. On the 17th, I found out I was pregnant. I started lightly bleeding the night of the 22nd, went to a clinic the next day. Had weird bleeding on Christmas, then got my second test on the 28th which confirmed that I unfortunately lost the baby... It's been rough. Plus side, I haven't slept that much in years 😅 #Miscarriage #ChildLoss #Grief

So, I've figured out why I've been feeling so moody and under the weather lately - while I'm not 100% ready to share what it is, I will say that it's not a bad thing and I'll be fine!

Sometimes It's Annoying

You vent about something that's been bothering you that has bothered you before. You and your doctor's know it's not (let's call it) Q and you make sure to specify that and there will still be people saying that it's Q.

It's not Q.
It's frustrating as hell.

Thankfully there are some people who are actually being helpful so that's awesome 😎

Frustration

So, 6 days ago I made a little vent about having stomach issues. Well, whatever it is going strong still. I am able to eat a few things + drink water, but there still seems to be consequences from doing so. Kind of a bummer but it be what it be, I guess.
I was supposed to get whatever it is checked out / diagnosed 2 years ago but there was some insurance issues and we had to put it on hold, but hopefully with my upcoming doctor's appointment we'll see if we can get me back in to a gastroenterologist. 🤷🏻‍♀️
