I believe in the power of hope and promise. I believe that a disability, specifically a psychiatric disability, doesn't have to define someone. Their gifts and abilities should do that and their hopes and dreams. That is what truly brings people together.

Recovery

There was a group home in Newton Kansas where residents were traumatized and abused for about twenty years. It was called the Kaufman House and it finally closed and the abusers were put in prison and recently died.

When I found out about it I was horrified. Abuse should not happen in group homes.

The precious victims have gone on to recovery and recovery for them is amazing. Recovery sounds different for some people and I admire them
