Did you see this “error” on the TIME Person of the Year cover?

TIME magazine just gave its Person of the Year honor to the voices who spoke out against sexual assault this year.

But many were quick to point out an important face cropped out of the cover.

TIME’s Editor-in-Chief explained on the Today show that it was actually intentional.

“The image you see partially on the cover is of a woman we talked to, a hospital worked in the middle of the country, who doesn’t feel like- She shared her story with us and some others, but doesn’t feel she can come forward without threatening her livelihood.”

About 2 out of every 3 sexual assaults still go unreported for reasons from fear of testifying to facing retaliation and more.

This cover is meant to symbolize all voices in the #MeToo movement-not just the stories we hear about in the media.

“A huge part of the story is that as much as the stigma around this has been removed this year, because of the #MeToo movement, it’s still really difficult for a lot of women to come forward.”

Many realized and appreciated what the cropped image represents.
