Interested in working at The Mighty?

We’re looking for people who are driven to succeed and passionate about making a big impact. Even if these positions aren’t a perfect fit, we’d love to hear from you.

Full-time positions:

Live Video Producer

The Mighty is a community of real people living with health challenges. It’s our mission to give our community a platform to connect with each other and share their stories.

Now there is a new way to make those connections happen: Live video.

We’re looking for a talented (and extroverted) video producer to lead our live video operation. This is an opportunity to work directly with our wonderful community of contributors and readers to produce several live videos per week.

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • A collaborative mindset
  • Advanced organizational skills (you’ll be managing lots of moving pieces)
  • The ability to community and collaborate with contributors in a professional way
  • A love for meeting new people — you’ll be working with new live contributors every week!
  • Genuine interest in the topics we cover (disability, disease, mental health, etc.)
  • A personal connection to the health community

This is a full-time position located in our Burbank office (Los Angeles).

Please send your resume and cover letter to [email protected] with the subject line Live Video Producer – [your name].

Cancer Editor

We’re looking for an editor to oversee our cancer section.

This role can start as a part-time position, but we hope it will evolve into a full-time position if the first few months are successful.

In this role, you’ll split your time between three major responsibilities — recruiting contributors to write about their personal experiences on The Mighty, editing contributor stories, and writing news/feature stories about cancer.

This is an opportunity to become a true authority in the space and build a real community around cancer on The Mighty.

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • Genuine interest and familiarity with the topic (you should be a part of the cancer community)
  • A strong sense of the issues that people living with cancer care about and identify with
  • A sharp eye for editing (we’ll give you a test)
  • Deep understanding of how to frame a story to attract an online audience (writing compelling headlines is crucial)
  • Experience using WordPress or similar digital publishing platforms
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate with contributors in a professional, constructive way
  • The ability to quickly identify relatable stories

Please send your resume and cover letter to [email protected] with the subject line Cancer Editor – [your name].
