Cancer Patient Gets the Surprise of a Lifetime on Her Last Day of Chemo
For Tamara Bruzzo, her last day of chemotherapy was a day of many celebrations.
Bruzzo, 21, was planning a little party in her hospital room after completing the last of her six 96-hour chemo sessions to treat her non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, BuzzFeed reported. Little did she know, her longtime boyfriend Lucas D’Onofrio, 24, had another surprise in store for her.
D’Onofrio, with the help of family, friends and staff at the in Florida, had planned an epic surprise proposal for Bruzzo. There were even fireworks outside her window the moment after she said “yes.”
“I wanted it to be a symbol of closing the chapter of cancer in her life and opening a new chapter with our lives together,” D’Onofrio told BuzzFeed.
