Oh, online shopping. You are the absolute best, especially for someone with rheumatoid arthritis, chronic pain and small children at home. Most days I have to tell myself not to open my shopping apps because it will not end well.

My addiction to online shopping has some benefits. I have found some items that have come in super handy for my rheumatoid arthritis pain. I have yet to find a magic pill, lotion or drink that solves any problem 100 percent, but it’s nice to have some options that reduce some pain and symptoms. So here we go with my favorite rheumatoid arthritis items.

1. IcyHot Smart Relief TENS Therapy

I was super-hesitant to use this. My mom is actually the one who convinced me to try it. She had one and I borrowed it, and right away I noticed a difference in my back pain.

Icy Hot Smart Relief TENS Therapy is a large sticky pad that you apply with a small transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) unit on your back or hips. One pad can last multiple applications; you can rinse it and reuse. You can adjust the intensity to low or high depending on your needs. This is a really great value for the price. It’s not too expensive to give a try, and you can buy the replacement pads if you need a new one.

If you have chronic back or hip pain, and your doctor gives you the OK, definitely give it a shot.

2. Dr. Teal’s Foaming Bath

OK, I know. “Have you tried Epsom salts?” That’s the first thing everyone says when they hear the words rheumatoid arthritis.

So yeah, not Earth-shattering or anything, but I love Dr. Teal’s Foaming Bath. It’s the perfect end to a rough day, and it makes amazing bubbles (yes, I’m a little kid at heart and bubble baths are amazing). They have a variety of available scents, and I love that it’s all-natural.

I also use the Dr. Teal’s Detoxify and Energize Body Wash. It’s one of the few products I’ve found that doesn’t make me itch. It smells wonderful and is easy on my sensitive skin.

3. Hyperbiotics Immune Advanced Immune Formula

Hyperbiotics immune pills

Probiotics are a touchy subject among the chronically ill. Everyone has an opinion and depending on your doctor, they may tell you yea or nay. This is my opinion and your experience could be totally different. I’ve taken Hyperbiotics Immune and Wellness Formula off and on for about six months. I am currently on three immunosuppressants and have a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old. When I take two of these daily, I’ve noticed that I don’t get sick. I had a period of a few weeks when I forgot to take them and I got sick.

That being said, your experience may differ, and definitely ask your doctor before starting anything over-the-counter, but I love these and they’ve become a must for me.

4. Biofreeze Cold Therapy Pain Relief Spray

This is a must for me when I’ve having more joint pain and swelling than normal. I always have some degree of swelling, but on the days I can’t move or I’m completely locked up, this helps quite a bit.

Biofreeze Cold Therapy Pain Relief Spray is my favorite cold therapy over-the-counter product. I like it because it doesn’t leave a lingering, terrible smell, and it doesn’t irritate my skin. It absorbs quickly and works fast. Biofreeze makes several different products, including lotion and roll-on, and I’ve tried all three. I prefer the spray-on method.

Cold Therapy is my favorite. I’ve actually thought about finding a local cryotherapy office and trying it, but that’s another post all together.

5. Sunbeam Heated Throw

From cold to hot, huh? Honestly, heat therapy doesn’t do much for my rheumatoid arthritis joint pain other than just making me feel warm and cozy.

It’s winter and there is nothing better than coming in and using an electric blanket. The extreme cold and windchill can make me feel worse than usual, so I like to come in from the cold and put on my fuzzy slippers and my super cozy electric fleece throw. It has three settings too, which is nice. My husband got me this patterned Sunbeam Heated Throw for Christmas and I really love it, and the kids and the dog love it as well.

So that’s all for now. Are there any items you use regularly to reduce your rheumatoid arthritis pain? I’ll add more to this post when I find more items that I love.

Now here comes the disclaimer:

Hey, Katie here. This is just my opinion. Don’t take any medications without consulting your doctor first.

Also, don’t spend too much money because then you’ll be all, “Katie told me to buy it and it’s her fault.”

Proceed to online shopping with extreme caution.
