Thank You for Being My Patronus When the Dementors Are Coming...
Thank you for being the white light that saves me from the demons chasing me in my dreams. I know you don’t understand what these sucking demons do to me… how, they make me relive my “mistakes” and “failures” in life day in day out. That I am always scared when I can feel the cold feeling as they come up from behind that they may steal me away from you again.
It takes so much love to produce a patronus. Happy thoughts, thinking of the good times and love we share. Thank you for remembering these for me when I cannot. Thank you for shielding me from the bad. I am sorry you have to battle the demons to experience the good.
My depression is a constant battle that I fight every day. Good or bad, I can still feel it deep down inside me questioning me. I know some days you are fighting against both of us to get us back. Some days I want to tell you to leave, that you can’t take this on, but there you are, ready to take on the world for me. I have lost so many to my depression. I hope I will never lose you.
You are my patronus, my guardian, my night with a wand ready to save me every day.
“Dementors are among the foulest creatures that walk this earth. They infest the darkest, filthiest places, they glory in decay and despair, they drain peace, hope, and happiness out of the air around them. Even Muggles feel their presence, though they can’t see them. Get too near a Dementor and every good feeling, every happy memory will be sucked out of you. If it can, the Dementor will feed on you long enough to reduce you to something like itself — soul-less and evil. You’ll be left with nothing but the worst experiences of your life.” ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
