I’m just a normal mom with a special kid. When my son, Jack, was first diagnosed with a rare disease, we weren’t sure if our family would survive. After the shock faded, and we realized that life would never return to “normal”, we questioned if it was realistic to strive for really being happy again. It took a while, but our family has found peace and happiness – even laughter. Thanks to the help of our friends, family, doctors, nurses, teachers, neighbors, and one very special boy with magical smiles, we’ve managed to mend our family. It’s like we’re held together with duct tape – not pretty, but super strong. I’ve shared our story for ten years on my blog, https://smilesandducttape.com and in the book SMILES AND DUCT TAPE.
