One of the symptoms that has given me the most trouble throughout my journey with chronic illness is joint pain. As a kid, it was mostly my knees that ached and kept me up every night in excruciating pain. But as I get older, more and more joints decide to join the party – and they love inviting along their friend stiffness, too. I’m only in my 20s, but I feel like a woman in her 80s when I wake up and hobble around my house in the morning, unable to bend much of anything.

Joint pain is incredibly frustrating (not to mention very painful, obviously), but sometimes the best way to cope is just by taking a deep breath and laughing at how ridiculous joint pain problems can be.
