How it started!#MightyCrafts #ChronicPain #Disability

I shared a photo of my most recent needlepoint a few days ago. Well this is where it started.
About 6 years ago, I was recovering from my 4th surgery on my right hip. And stuck in bed for 6 months. I needed a project. I had been tossing this Texas idea around in my head. I drew up some designs. I used perle cotton on this. I wanted to see if it challenged me.
Actually, it did challenge me and was a pleasure to do. I also did one in blues too.
Then, I did Texas all in greens for my green-loving daughter. Another in rainbow colors for my good friend, who is transistioning into a male.
Each one has its own designs and patterns.
I used to be very athletic. Now at 73 y/o, I need periods of rest as well as activities too.
I love needlepoint. It's very relaxing. It can also be challenging. It keeps my fingers active and my brain focused.
True it's not for everyone. However, between the 12 Steps and my needlepoint, I've stayed sober for 33 years!

GAP jeans / Adidas forced collaboration

I found these butter-soft wide-leg jeans from GAP at Goodwill, but they were too small. Luckily, I had this pair of Adidas track pants that were the exact same length. With a little YouTube inspo- they’re my new favorite jeans! #sewing #MightyCrafts

“Haute couture” on the cheap… #sewing #MightyCrafts

So… I wanted these beautiful pleated palazzo pants from Bagdley Mischka, but they cost almost $500. 🙄 Nevertheless, my mind was stuck on them, so when I saw a pleated satin prom dress at Goodwill, inspiration struck! I made my own! Does anyone else like to repurpose vintage clothes and Goodwill finds?

Thoughts?

Hey Mighty Friends!

These are the projects I’ve been working on and I’m kinda stuck.
I like the bunny (his tail is under the cup) but I feel it needs a little lightening up.... do you think pastel sponge dots in the letters would do the trick?
For the Easter eggs, they seem blah to me, especially the ones that aren’t glitter. What can I do to make it less boring?
