For PTSD Awareness Month, let’s remember that PTSD can affect anyone.

Transcription:

Right now, someone is dreading going to sleep, worried PTSD will steal any chance of rest.

Someone else is constantly scanning the room, making sure they can locate the exits at all times.

One person is isolating themselves again, just in case something trigger a panic attack.

Another person is telling their friend they can’t watch that TV show, because the violence might trigger a flashback.

While some assume post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) only happens to veterans, not all battles are fought in war zones.

People with PTSD are soldiers, yes, but also teachers, bank tellers and firefighters.

They are mothers, brothers, sisters and fathers.

PTSD does not discriminate, and no matter who you are, you deserve support.

Let’s spread hope for people with PTSD.

You are not alone.
