Sinead O’Connor Shares Facebook Video Before Checking Herself Into the Hospital
Sinead O’Connor posted two new videos about her mental health this past weekend, less than two weeks after posting a video letting fans know she was struggling with suicidal thoughts and living in a motel in the U.S.
In a video posted on Friday, O’Connor gushed over “the awesome power of Facebook video,” citing the video she posted previously, which was watched more than 2 million times. “Apart from the weeks that my children were born, I’ve got to say this has been the most beautiful week of my f***king life,” the Irish singer said of the support she’s received, adding that she will be blogging on Facebook moving forward.
O’Connor explained some points from her last video, sharing that she was in a motel so she could be closer to her doctor, reducing the likelihood she’d miss an appointment.
O’Connor’s next video, posted on Saturday, is a stark contrast from the upbeat video she posted on Friday.
“I’m totally destroyed now, again. I’m going to have to go back to the hospital,” O’Connor said. At the time of posting, O’Connor shared she hadn’t slept in 24 hours and was having a hard time functioning outside of the hospital.
“Thank god it’s there… the hospital,” O’Connor said, adding that an ambulance was on its way to pick her up. As much anguish as O’Connor displayed, she took the time to assure fans she was going to a good hospital and has a good team supporting her.
O’Connor posted a status update following her video, “Gotta go back to hospital. For fear will swallow all the stupid meds they’ve sent me home with. Such is life.” She has not posted on Facebook since.
