My 5 Resolutions as Someone With Anxiety

As someone with anxiety, there are a lot of things I wish I could do, but don’t.

Maybe it’s because it’s hard or maybe it’s because I don’t know how — who knows.

Sometimes, I can’t do it because I expect too much of myself and my goals are unattainable.

Here are five resolutions I am making this year that I believe I can actually attain:

1. Leave my room.

This year, I am going to make it a goal to leave my room at least once a day. I know, it’s hard, but I think it’s necessary to my mental health. So unless I’m taking a mental health day, I need to leave my room.

2. Stay present.

This year, I am going to stop looking at the past and stop looking at my future unreasonably — I will to stay in the moment.

3. Have a “me” day.

This year, I am going to make sure I take a day for myself at least twice a month where no one else is involved. I will give myself permission to turn off my phone and spend time doing what I want to do.

4. Love better.

This year, I am going to love people where they are and without putting them on pedestals or trying to raise them to my standards.

5. Love myself.

This year, I am going to do better at loving who I am and what I can do. I will go easier on myself and not expect too much.

Yeah, it’s going to be hard, but I believe I can do it. Some days are harder than others, but no day is going to beat me. Every day I will take a victory and I will be the conquerer of this condition, one second at a time.
