If Illness Makes You Feel Older Than You Are, These 14 Memes Might Make You Laugh

When you live with chronic illness, the pain, fatigue, cognitive issues and other symptoms can slow you down, and cause you to live a bit differently than your healthy friends and family. It can be hard to relate to others your age – whether you’re a teenager, or in your 20s, 30s, 40s or so on – when they want to go out late partying, or spend the day outside, or engage in strenuous physical activity. Perhaps you may find yourself relating more to those who are elderly, and maybe move at a slower pace, or have more physical limitations than most people your age.

There is zero reason to be ashamed of identifying with an older crowd. Hey, who says you can’t have just as much fun knitting or chilling at home as you can hiking or dancing? But it can be a bit humorous sometimes – how many young people have more in common with their grandparents than with their friends or peers?

If you feel like your body somehow missed the memo about youth and decided to fast forward to the aches and pains of old age, you may enjoy the following memes.
