It now dominates our lives: What happens next with the coronavirus? How do we keep each other safe as the world confronts a historic health crisis?

Given the gravity of the moment, we checked in with Mighties, the largest healthcare community in the world, to see how they feel about the coronavirus, how they’re affected and what they want to know.

We ran a survey From March 10  to March 12, and 8,264 members of our community spent 10 minutes sharing their understanding, concerns and experiences with the coronavirus.

Here’s what we found:

  • People care more deeply about their wellness and supporting each other than the wellness of the economy
  • The biggest feeling is frustration, driven by a perceived lack of transparency, anger at unpreparedness, and a lack of trust in the information from government and media leaders
  • Over three-fourths have taken extra precautions; these center around preparedness and isolation
  • Top questions on everyone’s mind are about containment, how far and fast it will spread, severity of the disease in different populations, access to treatment and testing, and whether the information they are receiving is accurate
  • 40% would like to see better access to accurate information

The Mighty exists to connect us in our health journeys. Some of us live with rare conditions. Many deal with the everyday challenges of chronic illness. Others are simply trying to remain healthy and care for others.

The coronavirus is unique in that it impacts all of us, whether we’re at risk or not. We will continue to survey our members over the next weeks and months to measure their mood, needs and the broad ramifications of this deadly virus.
