I don’t know about anyone else, but I tend to be a “just in case” packer. I don’t know what the “just in case” is, but I know it’s for something, and that causes me to pack for quite literally everything. I’m not talking about traveling, I’m talking about my everyday purse. The purse I take to Target, Publix, the park, you name it. The good news is that I’m almost always prepared for every potential situation, but the bad news is that there are a bunch of random things in my purse that weigh me down.
When you have attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) you can have issues with object permanence and clutter. As much as I think my purse approach makes me prepared, I can’t pretend it doesn’t leave my purse extremely, well, cluttered.

Here’s what’s in my (Mary Poppins) bag, with the only context being that I have ADHD.
Wallet
AirPods
Phone
(not pictured because I used my phone to take pictures of everything else)
Book (“Amari and the Great Game” by B.B. Alston to be precise)
Mosquito repellent bracelet
A pen
A notebook
A dog toy
Two different lipsticks
Two lip glosses
Mascara
A singular sock (?)
A brush pen
Nail clippers
A MetroCard for the NYC subway (I live in Florida, for the record)
$1.37 in change
An apple pencil
An apple pencil nib
A random key
Some of these things make sense. Others…not so much, but that’s what’s in my ADHD bag. What’s in yours?
