It is balance awareness week
It is for those with autoimmune diseases..
This week for me is the most difficult and triggering for me I haven’t accept the fact I got diagnosed with aied (autoimmune inner ear diseases) No one shows me empathy out it and doesn’t know how to support me on this also, i’m all alone only with my aied. I got diagnosed in Arizona and when I got told I got this it shocked me but also my life turned upside down that I still don’t understand it by not knowing how to accept and I’m not going to accept it at all… I was in totally hot mess with a lot of doctors appointments for trying to figure it out if there is more to it but there wasn’t it was simply aied. I frequently have to go the doctors to get special cleaning done for my ears, I just extremely hate it.. it is most isolating, frustrating, and irritating thing I have to do alone without online community of know anyone has the same thing as me (IG)/any support from family and friends/not enough resources for it/etc..

Yesterday it was my 22nd birthday.. My parents got me tickets for me to go to see the we the kingdom (Christian band). That band make me happy when I listen to their music, I had been struggling so much with my ears I have aied (autoimmune inner ear diseases) in both ears, and the program I attended with school I thought I would love but I actually didn’t. It turned out it was for people that has severe disability and when I went. Also when I went turned out there inclusion is nonexistent and couldn’t make any friends there also! I’m heading to a different program for this fall, that I always wanted to go!!

Hello! I’m so glad I’m not alone!

I was diagnosed with AIIED in 2009 after I had my first flare/relapse. Fortunately my very good friend IS AN EAR NOSE AND THROAT MD so he was n it immediately. (He actually cried when my blood work came back.) It was the first of what turned out to be 6 total auto immune diseases. I’ve only had one other relapse, both treated with steroids topically... yes topically (OUCH.) Both times I had initially lost almost 60 to 70% of my hearing in my left ear. Fortunately I recovered the majority of my hearing back over time and I can still hear very well out of both ears.
