“If I could take all of this away from you, I would.”

“If you could change anything in regards to your disability, would you?”

Those are just a few examples of things I’ve heard through the years. It’s been in my heart to say this — living with a disability and other health issues isn’t easy, and sometimes I hate the moments I’m in and my reality. I’m not your “typical” 22 year old and I get stuck in the “what ifs” and comparison traps. I have my good days and bad days just like everyone else. But at the end of the day, despite how hard it may have been, I wouldn’t change a thing. No, this isn’t easy, but it’s worth it! Yes, I said worth it.

So many amazing blessings have already been shown to me, and I’ve met so many amazing people and built long-lasting friendships with I might not have if it wasn’t for CP. I’ll forever be grateful for all the doctors, physical therapists, nurses and friends. My words will always fall short.

I truly believe that because of this, my faith is strengthened daily, and I’m exactly where I need to be. If you’re going through difficult times right now, stay strong and know you’re not alone. You’re exactly where you need to be, and you never know how you’re impacting others’ lives.
