When you live with a chronic illness, disability or mental illness, sometimes the best jobs are ones where you can work remotely. There’s no commuting to the office, dealing with inaccessible buildings and you can stay in a space that’s already adapted to your needs.

Finding a remote job can be difficult. Previously, we compiled a list of 11 companies that hire remote employees. While those companies are known to hire remote employees year-round, we also wanted to companies that have work-from-home positions open this September.

Don’t forget that if you’re interested in a company that’s hiring and they don’t list work-from-home as an option in the job description, try contacting the job poster. You can ask if working virtually may be an option. Now that almost everything has gone digital, many companies are willing to make accommodations for qualified candidates.

Whether you’re looking for a job in social media, teaching, customer service or even as a relationship coach, these employment options may be just what you’re looking for. Some of these jobs also need international applicants. Many are perfect if you’re still entry level, and others are looking for skilled candidates who are further along in their careers.

Check our remote jobs page each month for a new list of opportunities, and let us know how your job search is going!

1. Alorica

Alorica offers their clients customer service support, healthcare solutions and more. They deliver these services thanks to an army of 100,000 team members globally, according to their website. Their international workforce powers everything from bilingual customer service to IT management and even pharmacy tech. The company advertises they have flexible work hours and bonuses for employees who excel. Health benefits are available to some employees. Work-at-home agents are required to have their own equipment that meets Alorica’s needs, which includes a PC computer, internet and a phone.

You need to have your own tech equipment, which includes a Windows computer, fast internet, headsets and a landline phone. The hiring process requires an application and an assessment test. If Sykes determines you’re a good candidate, they will find you a potential project to work on. Once they do this, you’ll have a virtual interview before a final decision is made.
