How My Brother Feels About His Down Syndrome Diagnosis
My brother, Matthew, has Down syndrome. He is a young adult, age 20, and lives an ordinary life most days with an extraordinary amount of love, humor and tenacity. I asked him to tell me about himself and what he thinks about Down syndrome.

I consider myself to be a fairly open book, as I champion for vulnerability and love sharing my life through written word. I am a follower of Jesus first and foremost, but I also love life as a wife, mom, special education teacher, and aspiring author. I am a big sister to a brother with Down syndrome and a waiting mama for another with Trisomy 21. I advocate for adoption, value alone time, speak fluent Disney, and prefer the beach to anywhere else. Most of my writing involves my experiences with Down syndrome and my personal diagnosis of OCD.
