🌍 Today is world autism awareness day 🌍

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, for autistic people and their parents/carers autism awareness is 24/7 365.

I have been thinking today about our lives and how they fit within today’s world and actually they fit pretty well. I want to send all my love out to everyone struggling at this weird time in our planets history. We will survive because...

🌈 Someone with autism taught me about isolation a long time ago. We find peace in it.
🌈 Someone with autism taught me that patience is a skill to be learnt not a character trait.
🌈 Someone with autism showed me what inner strength really is and how best to draw on it.
🌈 Someone with autism taught me to listen with my heart and my eyes as well as my ears. You hear so much more that way.
🌈 Someone with autism showed me how to be happy in the here and now.
🌈Someone with autism taught me to never stop fighting for what I believe in.
🌈 Someone with autism showed me sometimes there is no one to blame.
🌈 Someone with autism taught me it’s ok to not be ok.
🌈Someone with autism showed me the world is perfectly imperfect and that is ok.
🌈 Someone with autism can turn my tears into a smile with just one look.
🌈 Someone with autism is my lighthouse in a storm.
🌈 Someone with autism is my hero. #WorldAutismAwarenessDay #AutismAwarenessMonth #Autism #Somethingaboutsam #meetthesenparent
