Tomi Lahren’s new apparel can hurt people with mental illnesses.

The conservative commentator’s merch features her slogan:

“Stay triggered, snowflakes”

The term “triggered” has become a buzzword meaning “weak.”

And Lahren uses it in her quest against “snowflakes.”

“The snowflakes were so taken aback by the result they felt they must do something.”

But “trigger” is a serious psychological term.

“A trigger is something that sets off a memory tape or flashback transporting the person back to the event of her/his original trauma.” – Via PsychCentral

People with mental health struggles come from all over the political spectrum.

And “weak” is a label many people with mental illness have been given unfairly.

This kind of stigma stops people from talking about how they’re really doing.

It makes people believe struggling in silence is better than being called weak or a “snowflake.”

It can lead people to suicide instead of reaching out for help.

This isn’t about politics — it’s about people.

We need to stop shaming people for their reactions to trauma, and start supporting them instead.
