Dear Migraine,

I am writing you this letter today to thank you for coming into my life. Now we both know that you have not been very kind to me. For over seven years you’ve brought me much pain, suffering, and constant struggles. It is very hard for me to remember what life was like before I met you.

You may find it strange then that I am thanking you when you’ve made my life impossible at times. I could list all the ways in which you’ve negatively impacted my life, but instead, I’m choosing to focus on the good things that have come from living with you day in and day out.

I never thought that I’d find such a caring, kind, and supportive network of people as I’ve found within your community. I finally feel heard and have come to find that I am not alone. After living with you now for several years, I’ve learned how to advocate, not only for others, but more importantly for myself.

I have found that I’m here to empower, educate, and support people in their journey living with you. I am stronger and have become a true warrior because of you. I am thankful for the people you’ve brought into my life and the experiences I’ve been able to share with those people, so for that, I give you many thanks!

Warmly,
Kim
