Why I Started Creating Youtube Videos About My Eating Disorder and Anxiety

I have struggled with anorexia for about three years. I also struggle with anxiety and depression. I created a YouTube channel to help break the stigma on mental illnesses.

I used to feel like I wasn’t able to talk about what was going on in my mind because I would be judged harshly. I want to help other people feel like it’s OK to talk about this stuff. And I hope to connect with people who watch my YouTube channel.

On my channel I have a video up about my anxiety. It describes how it feels to have anxiety and how I cope with it. My channel is still growing so all the views will be much appreciated and I encourage you to comment so I can get to know my followers. I hope to grow my channel and to connect with many people. You watching my video will help me a lot with that. Please share my video so that people who are struggling would be able to see it and connect.

Why Halloween Is Still Hard, Even Though I'm in Eating Disorder Recovery

I’ve always wondered why every holiday has to include so much food. Halloween, food. Thanksgiving, food. Christmas, food. Birthday, food. As someone who has struggled with an eating disorder, this has taken a lot of the fun out of holidays for me. I would look around at my friends on Halloween, laughing and enjoying their [...]

Why Relapsing Into My Eating Disorder Feels Like Drowning

I’ve never learned to swim, at least not well. I like being in the water, but only if I can touch the bottom of the pool. Swimming lessons were mandatory when I was in 4th grade. They would bus us all to the high school where the high school swim team would teach us how [...]

But this was all before I had an eating disorder myself. When I was younger, it seemed like eating disorders were a taboo subject. [...]
