To Those Who Are the Light in the Darkness of My Mental Illness
Thank you.
Without your support, I wouldn’t be who I am today.
Thank you.
For always supporting me. For loving me on my worst days — and my best. For always having a shoulder to cry on, or an ear willing to listen. For never giving up on me, even when I give up on myself. For seeing me as more than just my mental illness. For believing in me when I lose the ability to continue believing in myself.
Thank you.
For letting me be honest with you. For allowing me to be unapologetically myself. For hearing me out, for not writing me off. For showing me my strength and resilience. For helping me realize my potential. For pushing me when needed, and being there to catch me when I fall.
Thank you.
For looking past my flaws. For getting to know me, and not only my mental illness. For seeing the light inside when I can’t realize if it’s even there. For showing me the light in the dark, and the silver lining. For showing me there is more to life, for showing me I am more than just one piece of myself. For being my sounding board when I just need someone to voice my thoughts to.
Thank you.
For all your advice, for all your guidance, for all your kind words. Thank you for everything you are to me, and in general. Thank you for existing, thank you for your heart you hold inside. Thank you for being in my life, and thank you for staying in my life.
I love you, and I am eternally grateful for you.
