If you live with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and are a “Harry Potter” fan, rejoice! We’ve created the perfect quiz for you.

We know most “Harry Potter” quizzes are very general, so we wanted to create a Hogwarts quiz that relates specifically to BPD and how symptoms can manifest in light of your personality.

It goes without saying, but the following quiz is just for fun and should not be used as a diagnostic tool to determine whether or not you have BPD. It’s meant to be a silly, light-hearted quiz to share with friends and family — please don’t take it too seriously.

When you complete the quiz, you will receive a percentage ranging between 25-100%. If you score a lower percentage, have no fear! There are no right answers in this quiz — the percentages don’t mean anything other than indicating where you’ve been sorted. After finishing the quiz, scroll to the bottom to check out what Hogwarts house you’ve been sorted into. Let us know what you got in the comments!

Before we begin, we want to remind you BPD isn’t your identity — it’s only a small part of who you are. If you’re struggling with BPD and need support, download our free app and post on The Mighty with the hashtag #BorderlinePersonalityDisorder.

Without further ado, here’s the quiz!:

If you scored 25-39%, you're In... ravenclaw

Congratulations, you’re a Ravenclaw! You are a highly intellectually-driven and creative individual. You thrive when you’re pursuing knowledge about topics you care about and when you’re stressed, expressing your creative side can help get you through difficult moments. Your friends frequently turn to you for advice because they count on you to see situations and solutions in a unique way. In terms of your experience with BPD, you are most likely to struggle with the classic symptom of “splitting” or black-and-white thinking. Like Hufflepuffs with BPD, you are more likely to be on the “quiet” BPD side of things, often internalizing your intense emotional experiences and withdrawing from others when things get tough.

If you scored 40-60%, you're In...

Congratulations, you’re a Slytherin! You were sorted here because of your competitiveness, resourcefulness and ambition. Friends look to you as a natural leader due to your ability to succeed and earn the respect of others. In times of stress, you can sometimes become bitter and sarcastic, which can alienate others. You are prone to experience the classic BPD symptom of inappropriate or uncontrollable anger, especially when you get into arguments with loved ones in your life. Like Gryffindors, you are more prone to outward BPD “acting out” behaviors like rage episodes and impulsive decision-making. You typically “act out” when you are trying to cope with your deep-seated fear of abandonment.

If you scored 61-84%, you're In... gryffindor

Welcome to Gryffindor! Your bravery and spontaneity make you beloved among your friends, and the envy of all others. Though you are deeply loyal, you’re a bit hot-headed and it takes you a while to cool off when you have an argument with someone. When someone crosses you, you want to get even. In difficult moments, you channel your energy into physical activity, often running, swimming or biking to alleviate stress. In extreme stress, you often make impulsive decisions like changing your hair, quitting your job unexpectedly or dropping too much money on a shopping trip. Like a lot of Slytherins with BPD, you tend to express BPD outwardly, and the symptoms you struggle with the most are regulating your emotions and impulsive behavior.

If you scored 85-100%, you're In... hufflepuff

Welcome to Hufflepuff! You were sorted here because you are highly empathetic, care deeply for your friends and family and are just an all-around “teddy bear.” When you get stressed, you frequently turn to your loved ones for comfort, but when you find yourself in an argument or disagreement with someone, you tend to internalize and blame yourself for the conflict. You are a social chameleon and because you are so skillful at adapting to your surroundings, the BPD trait you struggle with the most is unstable identity. In your friend group, you often put others’ needs ahead of your own. Like borderlines in Ravenclaw, you usually fall on the “quiet BPD” spectrum, but unlike Ravenclaws, you are more likely to reach out for help when you need it.
