Woman With Stage 4 Cancer Responds After Trump Blocks Her on Twitter for Supporting ACA
One way to get the attention of President Donald Trump is to post a tweet in favor of the Affordable Care Act and to criticize the Republican’s latest GOP repeal bill. At least, that’s what Laura Packard, a small business owner in Las Vegas who has stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma, did back in May.
It wasn’t until this morning that the Nevada resident noticed the president had blocked her account. In May, she posted on Twitter, “Obamacare is literally keeping me alive & can get me cured. If it survives.”
I have stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. 1st chemo today. Obamacare is literally keeping me alive & can get me cured. If it survives. #SavetheACA

Packard was shocked when she found out she was blocked, but she kept a good sense of humor about it, posting, “Your guess is as good as mine! I try to keep him informed with facts every few days or so. Maybe he doesn’t like the facts.”
Omg. The President of the United States just personally blocked me. pic.twitter.com/MgLfwufOXC

In addition to a wave of support she received from followers, she also received a tweet from Chelsea Clinton:
The President shared a GIF of him hitting a golf ball at my mother & I didn’t block him (though I did wish he had been focused on the UN). https://t.co/RJ2bMbOmB1

Packard joins an exclusive list of names whom the president has blocked on Twitter including model Chrissy Teigen and horror author Stephen King.
