New Year’s is often regarded as a time of change – of leaving behind the old and welcoming in the new. Many may celebrate by staying up late on New Year’s Eve, spending time with friends and family, even toasting with a bit of champagne – then diving right into their resolutions on January 1st.
But for those with chronic illness, New Year’s may look a bit different. Staying up late, partying and drinking isn’t always an option – at least, not if we want to be functional the next day. And making strict resolutions can be difficult when your health is unpredictable and will never completely “get better.”
Even though the new year can be a tough time for those with chronic illness, sometimes a little laughter can be one of the best types of “medicine.” If humor helps you cope with your illness, you may enjoy the following memes.
