Since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) changed its COVID-19 prevention guidelines to recommend everyone wear a face covering while out in public, folks have been scrambling to find suitable face coverings.
Because N-95 and other medical grade masks are in short supply (and need to be diverted to health care workers!), people are turning to fabric face masks. Though studies have suggested masks may not be 100 percent effective at stopping the spread of harmful airborne particles, they can help reduce the risk of contamination, making it important to continue wearing them during COVID-19.
Whether you’re sewing masks yourself, fashioning a no-sew face covering or buying masks online, people have been getting creative (and fashionable) with their COVID-19 protection. That’s why we turned to our Mighty community to share their photos of their own fashionable face masks with us.
